According to a letter of documentation between Jimmy Velvet, president of the Elvis Presley Museum, Inc., and Jack Clayton, general manager of the Cadillac Dealership, on July 13, 1989, Elvis purchased a 1976 Cadillac Seville (VIN 6S69R6Q492056) in Crystal Blue Firemist color with light blue Semiglass trim for $17,927.24.
It is not clear when Jimmy Velvet acquired this car, but he sold it to Dave Garduno, the owner of YesterDave's Diner in Albuquerque, New Mexico, on October 7, 1993, for $60,000. Dave Garduno kept this car, along with others in his collection, displayed as a side attraction next to the diner.
The car was sold at the Barrett Jackson in Scottsdale, Arizona January 20-24 1999 event for $30,450 to a museum in Florida. It is possible that this Floridian museum sold the car to another museum called Eaver's Classic Car & Collectables Museum in Virginia according to a public record for $1,575.
According to John Cowgill's Literature Site (2016), Elvis' 1976 Cadillac Seville was in a Car museum near Staunton, Virgina. The Car museum called Eaver's Classic Car & Collectables Museum holds only 20 cars but the tour is worthwhile the entry fee of $5.00. It is unknown how long the car was displayed in that museum.
On January 5, 2024, the car was sold for $86,000 at the Mecum Kissimmee auction event. The car had 54,684 miles, and was offered with documentation and Elvis memorabilia.
